The Project Readiness Assessment combines a number of PRINCE2 stages. It is designed to confirm that everybody knows what the future looks like, why we are going there, the benefits that will reward the effort, how we will get there and who is needed to make it all happen.

Input

  • Review your outline business case
  • Identify the key players in the project
  • Review any vendor guidance / commitments on UAT and/or existing documentation / scripts
  • Review and discuss documentation / project framework and technical solution with the vendor
  • Identify existing issues / bug lists and known data issues

Activity

  • Meet your key players and discuss the intended time frames, resources, deliverables and project methodology
  • Identify the project work streams or stages, timings, resources and objectives
  • Consider the technology issues
  • Consider the risks to the project and how these might be managed

  • A report containing:
  • Background, including current operating model
  • Confirmation that the project is achievable
  • Project organisational structure and governance
  • Communications plan
  • High-level project plan
  • Initial resourcing requirements
  • Initial risk log
